Keep Your Sex Toys Bacteria Free

Lovers of sex toys will attest that sometimes the urge to use them comes on fast and strong. As a result, the idea of cleaning them before using them may seem like a bit of a mood killer so it makes sense to clean your sex toys after using them. And there are very good reasons to do so…

Believe it or not, using sex toys that are not cleaned properly can introduce bacteria into your system. One of those bacteria is E. coli which often appears as the cause of urinary tract infections.

Urinary tract infections most often affect women due to the anatomical fact that E. coli can more easily travel from the anus to the vaginal opening and into the female urinary tract. While this is far less likely to occur in men it can and does happen.

So how does all this affect sex toys? Well, if during their use you move the toy into or around the anus and then into or even near the vaginal opening the bacteria can easily be transported to places it shouldn’t be found. If you do use sex toys anally then you should not then use them vaginally until they have been cleaned properly. This includes using an anti-bacterial sex toy cleaner.

Bacteria are capable of surviving and multiplying on sex toys that are not clean so we recommend that you clean your adult toys after you use them, killing off the bacteria’s ability to multiply any further.

As always, practice the same safe sex methods with your adult toys as you would with a partner. Anti-bacterial sex toy cleaners are not designed to kill blood viruses such as HIV or Hepatitis C so take appropriate steps to deal with these if you are at high risk.
